Pam Mitman

Pam Mitman

Born in southwestern Ohio, I have lived in the Twin Cities since 1974. There were art lessons here and there—almost exclusively through the University of Minnesota Theatre Arts technical program, a few more at the Altelier Lack in Minneapolis—but mainly a lot of just “doing.” I paint still life, draw portraits, and scribble stories. My artwork is drawn and painted freehand from a photographic source. Initial sketching is completed by looking at an upside-down gridded picture, then the artwork is turned right-side up to finish in pencil, watercolor, or oils. Other obsessions include watching movies, living in other people’s novels, and herding cats.
