My passion is creating art in many forms. It might be in my garden, my studio, or out in the world. To be able to loose track of time and turn off the many forms of media, is a gift I readily accept.

My formal training (as a 40 yr old) came from the talented professors at Macalester College in St Paul, MN. I am a signature member of Red River Watercolor Society, NorthStar Watermedia Society, and Minnesota Watercolor Society. I enjoy my memberships in Minnesota Artist’s Association, NorthStar Watermedia, Minnesota Watercolor Society, and Gallery 96. I have received numerous awards for my unique and quirky artwork.

In my studio I often make marks with unusual tools such as my finger nail, a wax candle, or a stick to create interesting lines. More recently, I like to draw with an ink dropper directly out of the ink bottle.  This process allows me to get thick and thin lines that move the viewers eyes thru my work. Examples of these ink drawings can be found on my website.

As a plein air painter, I use all my senses. I can smell the fresh air, feel the breezes, and hear the birds and animals while I work. But the best of this outdoor painting experience is meeting with other extraordinary artists in this crazy world of ours.

I also create  wood sculptures, pottery, and fiber art to add balance to my art life.
