Mike is a self-taught artist who has explored various mediums, from colored pencils to oil painting, but he always returns to his first love: colored pencils. He began taking his art seriously at the age of 10, inspired by a fascination with wildlife and surrealism. Now, Mike focuses on the genres that resonate most with him—horror, Native American subjects, and Paleo art. Committed to quality, he exclusively uses Caran d’Ache Luminance 6901 pencils for their exceptional lightfastness.

Together with his wife, Irene, Mike operates their custom framing business, Artistic Indulgence, in Minneapolis. For the past 30 years, they have specialized in Conservation/Archival picture framing, ensuring the preservation of art for generations. This venture not only allows Mike to frame his work in ways he envisioned but also nurtures his creativity beyond drawing.

Mike’s art has reached audiences around the globe, with pieces showcased in countries like Switzerland and Australia. He has received numerous awards and honors through juried shows that celebrate his unique style and subject matter.
