Ten years ago, following my retirement and the loss of my wife, I set out to create new purpose in my life. I established two core goals: move to Italy to learn to paint, and undertake an annual pilgrimage documented through photography. While the photographs were captured along the trail, the drawings and paintings emerged during the weeks of preparation. Training for a March pilgrimage in a Minnesota February brings its own challenges, especially without a formal space! Working at kitchen tables wherever I go, the world has become my studio. This exhibition is the result of those journeys and the efforts behind them.
