July 27th at 7pm, the Songwriters in the Round Series continues

with its 37th installment at the Main Gallery Stage featuring the original music of Shane Nelson, JBell, and Matt Hannah

Shane Nelson

Shane Nelson

Shane Nelson from Superior, WI, has been playing guitar and writing songs since he was a small child. Shane started the band “Crescent Moon” in high school, and started to gain regional recognition, winning Junior Achievement’s Battle of the Bands at the DECC, and playing three to four nights a week at venues throughout the Northland. Crescent Moon was together for more than 10 years, opening for national acts such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, Survivor, Confederate Railroad, and touring throughout the midwest.

JBell

JBell (Justin Bell)

J. Bell was born, raised and honed his musical and songwriting chops on the muddy banks of the Mississippi River. Always drawn to music, he has played nearly every instrument over the course of his life, but was never drawn to anything like he was drawn to the guitar. He can’t quite remember when he started playing in bands, he has lots of memories of gathering in neighborhood garages and making noise with countless groups of kids.

Matt Hannah

Matt Hannah

Matt Hannah is a Minneapolis-based folk Americana singer-songwriter. His sophomore album Dreamland (2017) was noted by the Star Tribune and City Pages and called “inspired” by BABYSUE. His third full-length studio album House of Illusion (March 2022) charted on NACC 200 and was lauded as a “standout album” by WVIA Host George Graham. His music faithfully blends his love of Americana songwriters with a passion for the riff-based intensity of 90s rock.
