Area artists join together for unique collaborative exhibit
WYOMING – Inspiring artistry in all of its many forms is the focus of a community-wide arts event to be held next week in Wyoming.
“A Few of My Favorite Things” is the theme of the unique exhibit to be held Thursday, May 21, at the Spirit and Praise Pentecostal Church, 5521 E. Viking Blvd., Wyoming.
The event, sponsored by Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community (WACAC), will feature and spotlight creative endeavors of 20 members whose artistry includes painting, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, writing, music, and more.
All of the artists will be present to discuss their works with guests.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m.
“We welcome everyone who is interested in the arts to attend this unique collaborative event,” said Eric Peterson, board chair of WACAC. “It will be a wonderful opportunity for individuals of all ages to meet our artists and to see firsthand the wide array of creativity that is thriving in the Wyoming area.”
WACAC is a nonprofit arts organization whose mission is to encourage creative expression, promote the networking of artists of all ages, and champion a learning environment that builds community participation in the arts.
Currently WACAC has 45 members who are engaged in a wide array of arts, from photography and poetry to writing and painting and all the wide range in between, said Peterson.
In addition to the featured artists, other WACAC members will be present throughout the evening to answer questions and provide insight into membership opportunities in WACAC.
