Bird Myths live

“Bird Myths” are works of art that also function as musical scores.

Adventuresome musicians interpret these charts, finding sounds that cannot be easily described with conventional notation.  Each score has it’s own narrative: it’s the musician’s task to find and bring out connected music.

It is a process of serendipity, lyricism and joy.

For this concert, Todd Harper has assembled three amazing (and available!) compadres who are familiar with performing these kinds of scores. Tonight’s trio is Paul Cantrell, piano & accordion: Aaron Kerr and Michelle Kinney, cello.  Todd with provide oration, direction, piano & small instruments.

This configuration was part of a sextet that premiered Todd’s visual scores in 2021; but this is the first iteration of this trio.
