Artist's Statement by Kimberly Lindgren
Minneapolis and soon to be Tucson based artist, Kimmy, has been honing her skills in illustration since 2020. Starting to draw when she was old enough to hold a pencil, she spent hours at the kitchen table drawing imaginary worlds and characters she would come up with. As she got older, she lost touch with her art until recently after ending her endeavors with sports after almost 10 years, and decided to pick up the pencil again.
Kimmy is heavily inspired by graffiti art and psychedelics. Although she primarily does illustration digitally and physically, she also paints on occasion. She is driven to understand not only the world, but herself more deeply, and has a significant connection to nature. Exploring nature and its ecosystems is how she is able to develop a better relationship with earth, and art is her vessel of sharing her lessons learned with everyone else. She believes that curiosity is vital to living a fulfilling life, and her mission is to revive the child-like curiosity we have deep inside us all.
Artist's Statement by Constance Klippen
Constance Klippen is a creative artist from Minnesota. With a natural inclination toward visual art since childhood, she has expanded upon her unique style of expression into adulthood.
As a child, she was able to easily visualize ideas for blank space, and as she grew older began to value originality over all else in her work. Originality still remains the foundation of her creative ideas and completed work.
Constance primarily paints on large scale canvas with a combination of acrylic paint, latex paint, and oil pastels. Art courses in high school and higher education expanded her technical abilities and their influence can be found in her work today. she remains consistent in drawing inspiration from the images her mind visualizes on blank space, and has deepened intent and complexity throughout the years of her practice.
Her new body of work is heavily influenced by her time on the road from late 2019 to 2021. The work tells the story of the teachings, the belief in the attainability of our dreams, the loss and betrayal, and the enlightenment that carried out along the way.
