Mark Grim, AJ Scheiber, Mary Hall

Mark GrimMark Grim picked up the guitar during the British music invasion of the 1960s and has been playing ever since.  As soon as he learned a few chords he figured out that he could make up his own songs, several of which he still performs to this day. His early influences were the delicate melodies of Donovan, Simon and Garfunkel, jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd and the Beatles. Later came the gritty, more raucous sounds of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder. After concentrating on finger style guitar playing for years, then flat picking, Mark has developed a style that is a combination of both. Without the assistance of a looper or harmonizer a listener would be surprised to hear that it's just one guy with a guitar. After years of writing personal, therapeutic songs, his writing has evolved into observations on the lighter side of people's lives. In no time at all, Cash In My Pocket, Easy Money, Me And My Tattoo will have you swaying your shoulders and tapping your toes and smiling along with Mark!

AJ ScheiberAJ Scheiber is a St. Paul-based singer-songwriter and co-leader (with partner Liz Wilkinson) of the roots / honky-tonk band Wilkinson James. He has been writing and performing songs since around the time the Beatles came to America and Dylan went electric, evolving a style that is part folk, part country, and part old-time rock and roll. His tunes tell tales of humor, heartbreak, and history, and still bear the marks of his rural Indiana upbringing. He once described himself to an interviewer as “sort of a non-smoking John Prine”, but in his music you will also hear traces of influences such as Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, Mose Allison, Gram Parsons, and (of course) Minnesota’s own Bob Dylan.

Mary HallEven though Mary Hall’s first appearance on stage occurred when she was just 7 years old, her professional career began in 1968. Since that time there have been many great accomplishments as a highly gifted musician. In 1968, Mary packed her bags right out of high school and began an adventure in Rhinelander, WI that took her to 1/3 of the United States and into Canada, landing her in Minnesota where she now calls home. Within her 50 years, she performed in the Nightclub circuit, appeared in concert with Frankie Avalon, Avery Schreiber, Rip Taylor, Wanda Jackson, Harlan Howard, Hank Cochran and other notables. Mary Hall was contracted to sing at the Helicopter Convention in Anaheim, CA and a private party for lawyer F. Lee Bailey in Boston, MA. She has been on live TV and radio shows and recorded two singles at RCA Studio B in Nashville. Despite multiple offers to pursue ultra fame, Mary chose to follow God’s leading of a simpler life and is very content with this decision. To date, Mary Hall has recorded five albums that are being purchased by people around the world. To celebrate 50 years of music, a new album “Simply Me” will soon be released featuring inspirational songs that Mary Hall has written. Since leaving the Night-Club scene, Mary Hall has explored many styles of music and has been actively entertaining audience’s of all ages wit no plans to retire in the near future, (She has more projects on her bucket list.)
